Karen

Top of the day to you.

This is a painting I completed in December 2007 as part of my final for my Life Painting course. The figure you see is that of my girlfriend, Karen. This painting doesn't do her much justice, as my painting skills aren't at a mastery level to capture such beauty. I sort of phoned-in the background; I have much difficulties with concrete settings as opposed to more design-oriented backdrops. Of course, 4 months removed from completing this work, I see lots of things I could have done, but I'm pretty happy with what I painted.

Without a doubt, Karen is my better half. She is the calming center in the maelstrom that is myself. I can't articulate successfully what having her in my life has meant for me. She is my best friend and my rock to support myself. I love her and you get a chance to read this, I love you Kare.


No more mushy crap from me, I promise.
